Idaho State Historical Society

JLB chose the Idaho State Historical Society (ISHS) as our Year 3 Project 100 partner. ISHS is a “system of cultural and historic resources comprising the Idaho State Museum, Idaho State Archives, Idaho State Historic Preservation Office, Old Idaho Penitentiary and Historic Sites in Hansen, Franklin, and Pierce.” 2020 marked the 100th anniversary of women getting voting rights with the ratification of the 19th Amendment, so we thought this would be the perfect year to honor that history with ISHS.

History

The JLB was active during the 1960s and 1970s. Some of the more substantial work included developing the ISHS’s marionette program and one of the original marionettes is on display in the museum today! JLB also hosted legislative receptions with ISHS at the Museum in the 1960s, and we received an award of merit from ISHS for our work between 1961-1978.
