Kids in the Kitchen

2003–2014

To address the critical issues around childhood obesity and barriers to nutritious food, the Junior League of Boise adopted a national program that empowered our youth, with the support of parents and other caregivers, to adopt a sustainable lifestyle of healthy nutrition habits.  Kids in the Kitchen provided an interactive, hands-on educational approach, integrating sports activities and health professionals.  In addition to here in Boise, this initiative has been launched by Junior Leagues in more than 250 other communities in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom. Together with our sister Leagues, we have had an extraordinary opportunity to help combat potential health problems today’s children face and put the issues surrounding childhood obesity at the top of our nation’s agendas.
